Today is World Cancer Day, and while it’s a day for awareness and support, for me it’s also a day of reflection.
I lost my mum to cancer when I was 19. She had a rare cancer called sarcoma, a cancer that affects bones and soft tissue. Rare cancers like sarcoma are often overlooked, yet they change lives just as profoundly.
Looking back, this cause has stayed close to my heart. Seven years ago, I ran a marathon to raise funds for Sarcoma UK, and today feels like the right moment to continue using my voice to raise awareness for the cancers that don’t always get the spotlight.
Most of us know someone who has been affected by cancer, whether personally or through family and friends. The more awareness we raise and the more support we give, the better the chances are for research, treatment, and for supporting families through the unimaginable.

Today, I’m remembering my mum and standing with everyone affected by cancer. 🎗️
